Differing Reader

A Google Docs add-on that compares two Google Docs and shows you exactly what changed, line by line.

How it works

1. Open the add-on sidebar inside any Google Doc.
2. Paste the URL of another Google Doc you have access to.
3. Click Compare. The sidebar shows a colored line-by-line diff: added text in green, removed text in red.

Data and privacy

Differing Reader processes the text of the two documents you compare. Document text is sent over HTTPS to the diff backend, processed in memory, and discarded immediately — nothing is stored. Read the full privacy policy and terms of service for details
